EDP Renewables Proposes Acquisition of WA Solar Farm to Power Low Carbon Future

EDP Renewables has put forward a non-binding offer to acquire Pilot Energy’s 367MW Three Springs Solar Development, a project designed to support the production of low carbon ammonia through the Mid West Clean Energy Project (MWCEP). The acquisition deal, priced at $11.5 million, is expected to be completed by the end of 2024, subject to due diligence, internal approvals, and regulatory conditions.

Pilot Energy plans to recycle capital from the sale of the Three Springs project to focus on alternative renewable energy sites closer to its MWCEP facility. The sale will allow Pilot Energy to advance its Cliff Head Carbon Storage Project and boost renewable power in the Mid West region.
