At the Australia–India Annual Summit in Brazil, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially launched the India–Australia Renewable Energy Partnership, a landmark step in the countries' climate and energy collaboration.

Key Focus Areas for Cooperation
The partnership will focus on eight key areas:
1. Solar PV
2. Green hydrogen
3. Solar supply chains
4. Energy storage
5. Circular economy for renewable energy
6. Two-way investment in renewable projects
7. Capacity building
8. Other areas of mutual interest
Joint Projects and Future Plans
Solar PV and green hydrogen projects are already underway and will continue under the partnership.
A new 1.5 Track Dialogue will define cooperation in the remaining areas.
Building the Future Workforce
Both nations will focus on skills development and training to build a future renewable workforce, ensuring leadership in renewable technology commercialization.
Australia’s Commitment
The Australian Government emphasized its commitment to working with India to harness economic opportunities from the net-zero transition, with this partnership poised to bring those aspirations to life.
