Imagine a vast landscape dotted with wind turbines and shimmering solar panels – a clean energy hub brimming with potential. This vision is inching closer to reality in New South Wales (NSW) with the historic approval of the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ), the first of its kind in Australia!

Renewable Energy Zone

This groundbreaking project paves the way for a clean energy revolution in NSW. Here's why it's a significant win:

  • Clean Energy Superhighway: The project will construct essential transmission lines, acting as a superhighway for renewable energy. This will connect large-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects directly to the electricity grid.

  • Powering Millions with Renewables:  The REZ is expected to generate a whopping 4.5 gigawatts (GW) of clean electricity – enough to power 1.8 million homes! This translates to a significant reduction in reliance on fossil fuels and a cleaner future for NSW.

  • Economic Boom: The project is estimated to attract a staggering $20 billion in private investment in renewable energy ventures. This will create a ripple effect, boosting the regional economy and creating approximately 5,000 jobs during peak construction.
