Western Australians to Receive Record-Breaking Energy Bill Relief

Imagine facing the harsh Aussie summer with the added stress of skyrocketing electricity bills. Thankfully, Western Australians can breathe a sigh of relief! The WA and Federal Governments have joined forces to deliver a record-breaking $700 Household Electricity Credit – a financial lifeline for every household in the state.

This $700 credit is a two-part program. The initial $350 will appear on bills in July-August, followed by a final credit in December-January.  For those who don't have accounts with major electricity providers (Synergy or Horizon Power), applications for assistance will open in July through RevenueWA and the Small Business Development Corporation.

The credit is automatically applied to your electricity bill, reducing the amount you owe. There's no need to apply or fill out any forms – it's a simple and efficient way to ease the financial burden.

This record-breaking relief package is a win-win for everyone. Individuals and families will have more money to manage rising costs. Small businesses, with an annual electricity consumption below 50MWh, will also receive a credit of $362.50, helping them stay competitive. The initiative is expected to stimulate the economy and ease pressure on household budgets.

This is the fourth electricity credit delivered by the WA Government in the past four years.  Combined with previous initiatives, Western Australian households have received a staggering $2,100 in power bill relief! This commitment to cost-of-living relief demonstrates the government's understanding of the financial pressures faced by residents.
