Australia’s only Solar Panel Manufacturer, Tindo Solar, has landed a landmark contract: over 50,000 Walara solar panels (30 MW total) will power the upcoming Bowen Water Pipeline in Queensland. Set for delivery through 2026–27, this project marks Australia’s first net‑zero pipeline—a milestone in building resilient, clean infrastructure.

Australia’s First “Net-Zero” Water Pipeline Powered by Local Solar!
🌞 Made in Adelaide, Powering Queensland

Tindo Solar CEO Richard Petterson praised the project as a testament to his 60-strong Adelaide team:

“It’s a real compliment to our employees, making the highest quality panels in Australia… a vote of confidence in Australian manufacturing.”

That vote was echoed by Sean Brown, Pipe Director:

“We are delighted to be utilising Australian-made solar panels… an ambitious project that builds economic growth in Australia.”

🔗 Pipeline Facts: Clean, Powerful, Impactful
  • Length: 182 km (116 km main line + 66 km branches)

  • Power Source: 30 MW of Tindo’s Walara solar panels

  • Purpose: Run pumps/machinery to deliver Burdekin River water to Bowen’s horticultural and agricultural zones

  • Tech Stack: Australian-made HDPE piping + optic leak detection

  • Eco & Economic Impact:

    • 1,200 new jobs

    • A$300 million in annual economic growth

    • Final approvals due later this year; construction begins in 2026

🌍 Exporting Clean Tech: Tindo Heads to Vietnam

That’s not all—Tindo Solar also secured a A$8.4 million deal to export 15 MW of rooftop panels to Vietnam via Thanh Do Australia. This five-year partnership inverts the usual trade flow—exporting Australian-made solar gear instead of importing it!

In recent testing by Choice, Tindo’s Karra panel outperformed expectations, exceeding its 430 W rating by 7 W—a top rating for the Australian market.

🔥 Why This Matters

This pipeline project signals a decisive shift toward Australian-made clean infrastructure. It’s more than pipes and pumps—it’s about job creation, economic growth, and climate-smart ingenuity. Tindo’s solar export to Vietnam highlights Australia’s potential to compete globally in green tech.
