Endeavour Energy has officially completed its first community battery stream, launching the final unit in East Bowral, NSW — bringing shared, affordable clean energy one step closer to local residents.

In partnership with Wingecarribee Shire Council, Endeavour Energy unveiled the East Bowral Community Battery, enabling locals to store and share renewable energy — even if they don’t have solar panels. This launch wraps up a stream of 10 community batteries rolled out across areas like Bargo, Cambewarra, St Georges Basin, and more.

But it doesn’t stop there — Endeavour’s broader rollout includes:

44 batteries under the Commonwealth’s Community Batteries for Household Solar program

32 more batteries now underway with support from ARENA

Colin Crisafulli, General Manager at Endeavour Energy, says these batteries are helping households cut power bills while building a smarter, cleaner grid.

“Whether you rent, own, or live in an apartment, you can rent a portion of the battery and reduce your electricity costs,” he said.

Community batteries also help manage solar output and lower grid operating costs.

Origin Energy will manage the platform and stored energy, allowing East Bowral locals to easily participate in the battery trial.
