Key Contracts Awarded

The Water2Wire Joint Venture (JV) secured a $40 million contract to lead the design and engineering of seven new dams, which will form the project's upper and lower reservoirs. Additionally, AFRY-Aurecon JV received a $39.9 million package to focus on front-end engineering design for the pumped hydro scheme, ensuring optimal operation between turbines, tunnels, and reservoirs. A further $111 million contract was awarded to Decmil for the construction of temporary workers' camps.

Boost to Regional Jobs and Economy

This milestone supports Queensland's renewable energy goals while creating thousands of jobs and promoting regional development. Queensland Minister for Energy, Mick de Brenni, highlighted the project’s importance, stating that it will provide cheaper, cleaner, and more secure electricity for the state.
