The Essential Services Commission (ESC) has released its draft Victorian Default Offer (VDO) for 2025–26, inviting public feedback until April 11, 2025.

A fair, independently set electricity price for those unable or unwilling to engage in the retail market.📊 A reference price to compare electricity deals easily.🏢 A price cap for embedded networks in apartments & office buildings.


Key Price Changes

📉 Residential customers: Prices drop by $19 in some areas but rise by up to $68 in others. The average increase is $12 per year (less than 1%).📈 Small businesses: Prices increase by $77 to $128, averaging a $103 rise (3%) due to higher wholesale and network costs.


Public Consultation Open
