Leadership Transition at Synergy
David Fyfe, CEO of Synergy, has announced his resignation, effective April 2025, after serving as CEO for three years and with the organization for over four and a half years.

A Legacy of Transformation
Synergy Board Chair Michelle Shepherd praised Mr. Fyfe’s leadership during a critical period:
“David has reshaped Synergy to deliver on the closure of coal-fired power stations and a pipeline of renewable energy and energy storage projects by 2030. We thank him for his service and wish him well in his future endeavors.”
Interim Leadership
The Synergy board has appointed Kurt Baker as Acting CEO while the recruitment process for a permanent CEO is underway. Currently the Deputy CEO and Executive General Manager (EGM) Future Energy, Mr. Baker brings over 30 years of experience in Western Australia’s electricity sector, spanning operations, strategy, and project development.

In a LinkedIn post, Synergy highlighted Mr. Fyfe’s people-first approach, sense of humor, and unique love for Pepsi Max, noting he will be missed.
